by Jenny W. aka Mavry I’ve known these folks for five days now, and I’m still not sure what to make of them. People are opportunities, and the ones who don’t realize this are the ones who will lose in the end. These past five days, I’ve met and talked to more folks than I would in an entire year. I’ve fought together with strangers I ran into only hours ago, and they willingly offer me support, healing potions, inspiration spells, gold, and loot, all while knowing how easily I can steal from any one of them. Either they underestimate me or they are incredibly stupid, but I don’t think that’s the case. They trust easily, and I have everything to lose by staying with them. I know this. I know.

by Rachana J. aka Fillion I returned to town after searching for Gem of Seeing in Marshview for Eliza. I know they will fetch a pretty price and I could use the funds. Being cut off from my family has been harder than I thought but just as enlightening as I had hoped. I ran into an odd group who coincidentally was heading to Alderheart themselves with Eliza! I tagged along and did my best to guide them in the right direction. The journey to Alderheart presented many challenges as we travelled off the path to avoid bandits. I did my best to entertain with my lute and educate them about the vast forest, but they do not seem like the most cultured bunch. We ran into some angry sprites, a fire elemental, bandits, and more! At least I have stories to tell in the future and not a single scratch on me.
Greetings, friend! Where were we? Under the light of the moon, I had rested soundly. It was as if for a brief moment, in my tiny corner of Everden, the night had reached some equilibrium, some balance that had been so lacking. Thus when I awoke the next morning, I was bright eyed and ready for the next challenge. Once I made my bed I headed to the dining hall; the innkeeper, a kindly Sprig supplied us breakfast for just a copper. Grains and fresh milk! Oh yes please! As we ate, the innkeeper complained about the low coffee supply; there was too much danger for merchants to journey on the roads due to bandits! While listening to their woes, we were joined by a traveler named Fillion, who was another Vulpin. Fillion was an apprentice of Eliza searching for the Gem of Seeing! (This fact would later become very important to me.) Continue reading by Sophie F. aka Huitaca Dear Journal,
It’s been a long time since I have rested with the smell of apples in my lungs. Of all the things Reya cast our way in the last few testing days, that is what shines the brightest. Memories of the Crescent hearths baking fresh fruit drift vividly as I jot these very letters. I am in disbelief that I am alive to do so! These latest moons were quite a force... by Lisa M. aka Paikea Mo
Hello friend, When we returned to Eliza I was relieved to see she was safe. I was a bit worried, for we did not disguise her well! Yet she was unharmed and in much better spirits. I wanted to rest also; I needed time to better prepare as our journey was proving to be challenging! However my companions were eager to continue, and so we did… We had barely progressed down the road when a fury of fire bats descended upon us! We attempted to fight them off, all of us exhausted from our previous battles. I lobbed a flame ball at them but it flew past! I even saw a handaxe sail through the air and I had no idea who had hurled the weapon! Huitaca tried to attack but became overwhelmed by the bats and she fainted! Almost in an act of desperation, Mavry began swinging her weapon above her head in frustration at the swarm and suddenly poof, they went up in smoke! Continue reading by Jenny W. aka Mavry Went on our way with cat lady who turned out to be even more annoying than I expected. Group traveling was very inefficient, especially on the main road -- why I travel alone. Got swarmed by bats and missed my first shot. Random axe flew by from unseen outsider and missed the bats. Lots of folks whiffing attacks on bats of all things. I started getting pissed, so I swatted the bats down with my daggers.
Axe turned out to belong to a fancy looking vulpin. Looked a bit like Frey but seemed to also dislike her. Couldn’t decide if trustworthy but party seemed fine with her. Group seems very vulnerable to bad people; they seem to only recognize obviously bad folk. The fact that they trust me is a bad sign. by Lisa M. aka Paikea Mo
Hey friend, Paikea here. I’ll be honest. It’s been tough these past few moons. Nestor’s trail has gone cold and until today I was all alone in desolate Meadowfen. The Gallus are on edge, for the roads are filled with bandits and vagabonds. As a result, this morning the market place was deserted; just a handful of merchants were selling their wares and most shops were closed and boarded up indefinitely. There are also worse rumors that Calamity is coming to Meadowfen! Occasionally, some days I would see mysterious plumes of smoke appear on the horizon. The thought of Calamity raises every quill on my body! Calamity has taken so many homes, so many lives and no one, not even Nestor, knows how to stop it! Continue reading By Jenny W. aka Mavry Was hitting up gallus town looking for shops that trade. Everywhere was closed. Rested for a bit by fountain and spotted the flamboyant, charlatan luma of all birdfolk lurking around by a bush. Some strig stumbled into town all burnt up and collapsed behind me. Didn’t have anything valuable on her but I bandaged her up anyway since there was a raptor with a bow and arrow nearby staring at us. Raptor and I carried her to town elder, an old gallus.
Some hedge and armored raptor randomly showed up to commotion. Gallus asked us to send a message about nearby fires to Alderheart with whole group. Luma turned up to the sound of reward -- typical. Gallus’ desperation over fires convinced me, but prospect of reward also sounded nice. Also was headed to Alderheart anyway. Hedge was naively eager to help -- definitely trustworthy. Raptors seemed to be former soldiers who knew each other -- not trustworthy so far. |
West MarchesPlayers have constant opportunity to create characters and explore them in an open world setting. PCs drive the objective of each session, and have the flexibility to drop in and out of different parties. It’s too much fun to say no to. ArchivesCategories
